selling my baby...1996 C4 polar silver/black 6 speed/108K miles + OT news
all,
i purchased a new mercedes sedan and decided to sell my 1996 C4 w/108K miles and i will be buying a C4S next year.
- 1996 C4 ...never have had a check engine light issue...runs perfecty
- california car
- 6 speed
- 108K miles
- no oil leaks...never a CEL issue
- polar silver/black leather interior
- motor sound package
- interior perfect...everything like new
- exterior has some small rock chips in nose and very few light scratches which are almost impossible to see....other than that a beautiful original finish with no dings or dents.
- $8000 spent 3000 miles(2 years ago)at Buckenham's Stuttgart West in stockton, california which included: new clutch, new brakes, complete service with new plug wires, new battery, new tires, brake flush/etc...all services and maintenance were done whenever it was needed by the previous owners
- service records since 62K miles
- $25,750
i won't go into all the details but i had a life threatening infection about a month ago which i am happy to say cleared up well and i am on the road to a full recovery....it is hard for me to bend down into a car and take road bumps because my lower abdomen is sore and will take many months to heal...the mercedes is a more comfortable approach to driving enjoyment now.
i only mention this firstly because i am happy to be alive and secondly i know alot of us porsche guys(and women)are in our mid-late 40's and all of us should be aware of a condition called diverticulitis....about 45% of all americans have this conditon which are pouches that form on the large intestine...sometimes pieces of food get trapped in these areas and infections occur...usually the infections go away with IV antibiotics but occasionally the infection can't heal and forms an abcess which is what happened to me...the abcess was drained and after 3 weeks tube was removed and fortuneately i am doing well...i may have to have surgery to remove this section of intestine if the infection comes back but after talking with many people who have had similar problem, they have not had any problems in 8-10 years so i keep my fingers crossed.
eat lots of fiber, keep everything flowing and stay away from fats.
**if anyone wants photos of car just shoot me an email:

Good luck with the sale of this car. More importantly, I am glad to hear you are on the mend!!
My Dad went through a blood infection that came up out of the blue, last April. He was literally a half hour away from death when he arrived at the ER. Serious stuff!
Get well!!

Thanks for the info on diverticulitis, and glad to see you are recovering. Doesn't seem like it will take long for someone to snap up your C4 at that price.
All the best!

Best of luck with the recovery.
Can't believe you've owned 45 Porsches in 15 years...and I thought I had a problem...

Hey William,
this is Jack (aka 3rd on the list).
We are bummed your car got away, hopefully the new owner enjoys it!
Thanks for your time, and hopefully both of us have 993's in our garages soon again!
