Default Running the engine after a battery disconnect

I just read in my owner's manual that after the battery is disconnected, the engine should be run for approximately ten minutes.

If I disconnect my battery, should I simply let it idle for ten minutes afterwards?

Thanks,

Matt

Disconnecting the battery clears any Malfunction codes in the ECU as well as clears OBD-II Readiness monitors.

Although its not necessary, you'll need to re-adapt the throttle body by turning on the key for 3 minutes without starting, then starting the engine without touching the throttle. Let it idle for 3 minutes and you're done.

Readiness codes take some time to reset all 9 unless you follow the specific procedure to do that.
