Default Front windshield shade

I was told that Porsche does not make a windshield shade for the 993/early 911s. Does anyone know of where I can get an aftermarket one that is specificaly for this model? The car is always garage kept but was out having a beer with Mel yesterday and when I got back to the car it was f***** hot, could not even touch the wheel for about minute until the car cooled down. I guess I could buy one of those one fits all, but they never fit right.

Mike, with that hot sun you guys get in Texas you might need to cover all the glass when outside!

I just ordered a custom shade from Performance Products. I tried a couple from my local Pep Boys, and none even came close to fitting. The shades could be trimmed to size, but I gave it to my wife, whose car sits outside at her barn all day when she goes horseback riding.

Haven't found one that fits yet, but have not looked into a custom one yet either. Would be interested to see if anyone has found something that does fit

Buy a cheap cardboard one and trim it to fit.

I've been considering that one. I believe it's the same one that dealers sell except with a Porsche logo on it and more $$$'s. Are you sure dealers don't sell them, Mike? I'm pretty sure Sunset has the logo'ed one.

Thanks Dan I'll check Sunset. I checked Park Place and the local dealer here and they both told me the same thing.

Chuck, I think that is the same one Performance Products/Automotion carries. Let us know how it fits when you get it. It's really not THAT hot in Tennessee, is it?

I use HEATSheild for all my cars. They are custom made for each car. Partsheaven sells them for 40 bucks I think. I have 1 for each of my cars.

I just have the square oval ones that are made of the same looking stuff the old popcorn containers were made from. They fold up into one another into the shape of a little saucer. Fit like a champ and work wonderfully at keeping the heat down! Can't recall where they came from, but probably just an autozone special.

I JUST received mine from Performance Products, it was $40 + shipping, if you call the order in, you get a 15% PCA discount.

Fit is perfect, looks like a OEM piece, & totally works, my interior is nice & cool!
