Default TN Tubs - Cal Turner 08 BBQ Pics

The '08 edition of the Cal Turner / TN Tubs (356's) BBQ was today at Cal's farm outside of Nashville. As those that have been in the past (or have seen photos) will attest it is an event not to be missed. In my 2 1/2 yrs. in Nashville this was the first time I was able to attend and it was great.

Cal gets out many of his collection, the 356 guys get a chance to show off their cars and the rest of us get a chance to park and drool over everything, including what everyone else drove to the event.

I'm uploading about 250 photos to my Google Picasa account, will edit them as soon as I get a chance but I'll be driving over to NC tomorrow so it won't be until Mon. at the earliest. The photos will start showing up in 50 photo batches in about 30 min. but I won't get to group them until later. I'll put the url link in just a few min., as soon as the first batch has been uploaded.

Hopefully others will add their photos too.

Photos now at Picasa Link and look for '08 TN Tubs BBQ Albums

5 Albums of photos uploaded.

Thanks for posting the pics Bill. It was great to see you today and I'm glad you finally got to see his collection. The RUF RGT and 993 were two of my favorites, but it is hard to argue with an M1, multiple 73 RSs and the paint to sample CGT.

Also had a great time, and great to see you guys!! I ended up talking with a few people for most of the day and after lunch I looked up and both of you (and others I know) were gone! I hate that I didn't get to speak to you guys more than I did.

Let's get out for a fun run some time in the next month and do this all over again. Matt Shaw and I followed each other back to B'wood from there and it was fun (except for the traffic). We need to get a group of guys together again soon. We should do a Starbucks moring run out to Matt's place, Wicky's place or something like that.

Cheers!

I will also try to post some pics as well. I took a few of my faves out there. And yes, the M1 was included (what a cool car).

Good to see you too Robert. I looked for you before I took off, but couldn't find you and my wife sponsored furlough ended at 1:00! I would love to get together with the 993 crew soon- we should definitely get Matt into the fold next time we meet up.

Good to see you guys too. Brenden, I'd say we need to get together more often but since you just brought home a brand new rugrat I doubt that's going to happen...congrats though. My wife wants a new house so I told her I would start the search process, she's not very patient so I have to keep reminding her this will not be done next month. This time we'll be looking on the south side of town.

Again, good to see you guys. A Matt Shaw or Starbucks event sounds good to me. I need to get my wheels balanced too...

Brendan, I saw you, but you were leaving and I didn't really get to talk - I was the guy with Todd (944) Patterson. Nice car.

The event was great - lots of nice ones there.

Thanks Bart- I was admiring your 968 as well. Glad you guys could make it up- this was my second time at the event, but you never know what new cars will be hauled out of the barn for our viewing pleasure!

Actually, my 968 wasn't there. I had left it at Wikie Lawry's shop with a transmission issue. That one over there close to yours was Jim Pasha, editor/writer for Excellence. I have an Adventurine Green Metallic 993 as well - didn't see any that color there.

Almost bedtime, Brendan, or is that new baby making some racket and keeping you up? :-)

WHat a great time had by all this picnic was. I am so glad I started going again. I went in 2003 and didn't go again until last year. By far the best Porsche show n shine I have ever been too, although I think the Parade in Charlotte may end up taking first place soon!

I am all for a Starbucks/Drive to WIcky's or Matt's again. We did Wicky's last time, maybe we should do Matt's this time so I can check out his new pad!

It will be worth it. I know the Tubs are coming down and the PCA club in Nashville too. So far I know of 4 PCA clubs coming from the south east.
