Drop link issue
Anyone have issues with breaking drop links ?
One has broken, having just had the PSS10's installed along with h & r sway bars.
Street driving within 200 miles.
Are Tarett's the answer ?

If your swaybars are installed correctly and dont have pre-load your links should last a very long time. The problem lies when there is a large load on the endlinks. you can go to tarrets or another heim type but you still need to install them with the rear wheels loaded (using drive up ramps or just set the rear wheels on blocks or something) and then adjust the links so that the bolts slide nicely in the holes. It can also be due to the shock mounts rotating and changing the load on the endlink.

Was it your right side that broke?
I'll take a guess that the perch came loose putting a knarly bind on these short little links pulling the ball stud out of the weldment.
If the above happened, are there double lockrings on the drop link perch mount?

I had one break very soon after installation of my PSS9s. It was due to the "locking ring/collar" not being tightened or it somehow was able to rotate or something along those lines. Got a new one, had it re-installed, and no problems since.

I just installed Pss10s on my C4 and broke the right rear drop link because the perch was not tight enough. It pulled the bottom ball right out of the socket. Anyway, got a new link from Bilstein. Lined up the perch and the sway bar and tightened the lock color down as tight as I could. So far, knock on wood, no issues.

Double collars are nice, but if your installer uses the correct spanning tool and set sets the link firmly in the right position, you should have no problems.

My recent install of PSS10's resulted in a broken drivers side drop link. The install was done a t a reputable shop but when I checked the setup the drop link perch was loose. I also have H&R sways.
If the drop links are not adjustable such as the ones that come with the PSS10's and you can't change the height of the drop link perch after they are installed, how do you adjust the links to line up correctly?
Also I assume that the second collar can not be installed below the perch without removing the coilover from the car?
Has anyone tried lock tight on the locking collar? Would this be effective or just cause problems?

I am having the same problem(s) with my newly self-installed PSS10 on my 1996 C4S. but my collars are tight.
With the wheels off (rear) I could only get a small drop-link clearance between the lower Toe arm and the sway bar. Under load the said clearance increased but when I hit a pot hole I hear a metal to metal clunk sound that could be the rear drop links nailing the Toe arm.
Are the Tarett drop links shorter in length than the supplied new PSS10 drop links which are supposed to be shorter than the stock drop links.
Thanks,
Patrick

Thanks Matt, I just again looked (plastic wheel ramps) and when loaded the Prech collar gets loose and the rear drop link is not straight (relative to the Perch bolt hole and the sway bar bolt hole) which I assume would soon break. It is too bad Bilstein does not supply two locking collars for the direct purpose of locking the Perch+Drop-Link. They do just that for the actual springs but not so for the as important Drop Link+Perch.

Oh Gawd...these drop links again...
The drop links have to be vertical. I used the double collars to prevent rotation, hammer and drift pin, and marked them with a paint stripe to be certain they have not rotated.
I also went to Tarrett Drop links, front and rear..got rid of my 993 RS rears and stock fronts.
I have PSS9s and TRG bars.

Where is the bar in relation to the toe link? Above ro Below? From the sounds of it, you have the bar above the toe link. Once you start lowering the car you need to move it under the toe link using the curved RS droplinks.
