Default My New Alignment/Height Spces

Had my new Bilstien HD + M030 ROW installed and took my car in for final height adjustment, and alignment specs to the dealer. The guy seems to be a pro and a very nice guy. I told him I track once a year, and aggressive on the streets. He took 3 hours = $389with tax.

The final result looks good, I will post pics after I wash her. I havent really pushed the car to test to the new setup, but already felt a little firmer, and for some reason, my turning radius seems better now.

Anyways, here are my specs. Its all Chinese to me...You guys can give your opinions.

Nice price!! My dealer charged around $700 or $800, and that seems to be in the ballpark with what others have paid. How does it feel?

It looks like you are going to have fun with those settings. I changed my ride height to the sport setting 144/127 and haven't had a problem with hitting speed bumps and curbs - glad I changed. My question is regarding the allowable difference between front and back axles +/-10mm. If the chart Streather, which is the same as in the service manual, shows that there is an allowable difference of 10 mm, why is it not reflected in the body of the chart where it lists RS, Sport, ROW, and US (124/107, 144/127. etc.)? There seems to be a constant 17 mm difference between front and back specs in the table. Should the measurements be more like 120/110, 140/130, etc. to honor the 10 mm? I understand the 1 degree nose down attitude Porsche designed for the car. I don't understand how to apply the 10 mm difference. Any insight?

You're confused about the 10mm being the difference between the front and rear ride height. On ROW Sport height, the base numbers are 144mm (+/-10mm) on front and 127mm (+/- 10mm) on rear. In order to maintain proper "rake", if one is -5mm on one corner, then one should be -5mm on the all corners. However, two or three mm total varience is common due to corner balancing, the individual characteristics of each vehicle and measuring error (unevenness of garage floor, for example).

wow, I thought I got ripped off. I did mention that that was for adjusting and alignment only right? The install was seperate.

Basically, all in was juST UNDER $3000...parts (HDs, springs, FTP) and labour. I think thats pretty good.

Those seem to be some pretty big differences between before and after so I expect you will notice the impact once you adjust the driver settings :-)

Me too, I did the install myself, and adjusting and alignment was double what you paid!

I was just told by the shop that the book time is 4 hours. Another shop quoted $400-500 (Cdn) so $300 seems pretty reasonable.

Yep, I paid three grand too. (2K+ for the parts and approx. 1K for the "removal, install and Hunter alignment").

Not for nuffin', best Goddam 3K I spent (on this car) EVER!

You will LOVE the 'planted' feeling when you drive.

When it comes to 'bumps' -- if you can remember a Richard Prior clip where he is on stage and is going on about how a white person and a black person behave when they come across a snake ...well the new suspension is ..."ohh ...ummm... (step over without fuss) ...snake..."

ppressle - I recognize the print out and know where he had it done. That shop has the stupidly expensive kinematic toe adjustment tool.
The owner was an accomplished racer and is a current PCA senior instructor who drives a GT3. he knows what he's doing and many of the local trackies (me included) use him exclusively.
