There are some other curves posted, for example:

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=dyno+curve

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=dyno+curve

https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ght=dyno+curve

I have not compared point to point with these charts, but since the car is used primarily in the city and will possibly become a daily driver I ilike the torque curve lower. As to what it was like before, its hard to tell since I changed to a RS flywheel, which could change the feel as well, and cleaned and replaced a whole bunch of stuff (including cleaning injectors, etc.).

BTW, the change in the cam timing was not that much, its actually 1.1mm lift. That was recommended by a bunch of sources including Gerry Woods.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike ... thanks for sharing as always. Interesting that the two NA 996 cars were not as strong as yours? That '02 Turbo must have been jazzed up in some way?

All the best,

I was only there at the end since my car was on at 2:30 and they started first thing in the morning. One of the Turbo's was modified quite a bit, likely the 02'. As far as the 996's go, I was suprised to see the numbers but both have pretty well the same numbers. I was about two cars after the last 996, I saw the car in the lot but not on the dyno. Conditions were pretty well identical. I think the 996's were supposed to have about 320HP at the crank but the dyno does not support that...maybe both the cars were not running right.

Cheers,

Mike

Mike, I have to admit that I'm a little skeptical about your dyno plot. I don't have a stock 993 varioram plot handy, but it looks like you're well above the factory numbers, which is well...irregular. Especially considering that Dyno Dynamics typically read low. Have you compared this against factory curves from porsche?

No, I have not had the time to look it up, but I will. But my car was tested within a series of other 911's so the relative comparisions are most interesting. The SC's look about right but the 996's look low. My car looks high. This shop uses this dyno to tune Subaru rally cars and they know the machine and say its accurate. The guys running the machine were pretty consistant and the weather/conditions were consistant.

Cheers,

Mike

Default Dyno Test

On May 24 the NSWPC (Sydney) are running a tech day and Dyno testing at a local Porsche specliast (who services my car) Bob Whyms Auto

I expect a strong turn out of all makes and vintage P cars as its for club members only... so should have a great spread of results to let you guys know what I can find out from fellow members ..

My 96 Cab is going on the Dyno ...all money for this goes to a local charity ...
