Default Fog Light Problem...help needed.

I'm back with another issue.

The PIAA bulbs in my turbo S ducts seem to be too strong (55 watts). The lens cracked. See picture.

Does anyone know where I can get another one like it but lower wattage, or an alternative? btw...it suppose to have 2 pins. 1 broke off, as they are quite fragile.

I have checked the PIAA site to no avail.

thank,
sam

That's not good. It looks to be a simple MR16 projector bulb with a lens glued or caulked on in front. IKEA sells some these types of bulbs but I'm not sure if they'll be watertight. The problem with these type of bulbs is the heat output.

Sam,
I presume they worked when you initially installed them - as they certainly worked the few times that I turned them on. Is there any chance a rock cracked the lens?

While PIAA is the original manufacturer of the lamps, I have a feeling that other, drop-in, replacements exist.

After closely examingin them, the lens are cracked from the inside, and perfectly smooth on the outside, so no rock has hit them. My car has been in and out of the shop for suspension, and just recently took it out of stoarge, so I only ran the lights a few times. The other night was the longest, about an hour, when I saw the smoke....

Regardless, it's no one's fault. I am just trying to find an alternative. please send them my way if you find something.
