Don, I do like that blue color but I think you need to loan your car to JoAnne for a couple of weeks though.....

Thanks. My jet black MCS definitely got hot when it baked in the sun. Tinting the windows helped a little, but probably wouldn't make that big a difference in the desert.

It was also a PITA to keep clean. Painted arches and trim made it a little easier, though.

my dd is a 2004 Cooper S. British Racing Green. all stock because I spend my money on the 993. The Cooper is great for running around town but not the Porsche for sure. my only complaint is the gear box is not near as smooth as the 993 or many other RWD cars.

You'll adapt. I actually drove the C4S today for the first time in a couple of weeks and it was pretty strange. Of course I'm dealing with a lowly 280 (maybe) HP.

I did consider a Mini, but since the new version isn't out in a convertible (or is it, or will it be.....have not payed attention) I kept looking for a 993 cab. And then they called me about the smart, and I went over and got it. Entertaining enough, for now. First convertible I've ever had (no I don't count Targas and 914s).

Very cool, Rick. Congrats on the new car. You haven't posted in a while; I was wondering what you were up to.

Joanne - Your car looks perfectly set-up to attract 25 year old guys . . . j/k (sort of)

Clinchy - Love your Mini!

My wife and I purchased an 07 Mini S a year ago this week. We now have 23K on the odometer, and the car consistenly gets 33/34 mpg. It is deceivingly quick, and is now my summer DD. We went with dark silver and a black roof, accented with chrome mirrors. We then added black racing strips and the rally lamps up front. We couldn't resist adding a Mini-centric vanity plate as well: LVNLRGE.

The car is juts too much fun... Feels a bit like a go-kart!

Enjoy, and congratulations...

I'll keep the SRT8 for a while, but I am a Micro Car enthusiast at heart. I love small underpowered vehicles. My favorites are the Goggomobil's and 50's air cooled Fiats.

Thank you, Mark. Still here - for the first time in a long time, I am preoccupied by something other than track days. We are doing a big renovation at the cottage (in Maine) and I have had to spend my time on that.
Well, time and money - too much money but it will be nice when it is done.
Happily, business has been good, too.

Thank you, Blake - mine is similar, but black mirrors and no stripes.
Agree with the go kart feel. A very solid go kart.
Are you doing any autoX or DE with the Mini?

My girlfriend loved her pooper S but had to sell barely after a year since our little boy's car seat, was hitting the roof and fitting him in there, was more acrobatics than anything else. Here's a picture of it lowered on H&R and JCW grill and hella lights. I still have a cold air intake with K&N cone filter if anyone wants it.
