Default replica MY02 5 spoke wheels

I recall a few Rennlisters have purchased replica MY02 thin spokes over the past year...I forgot if they were purchased through ebay or another vendor. Also aren't there two versions...the "made in China" one and a version made in Italy that are TUV approved? IIRC the first was approx $500/set vs. the TUV ones for $800-900/set.

Any feedback from those of you have purchased either? I'm looking for a spare set of wheels but can't justify the cost of the OEM 5 spoks.

TIA

Why not a used set of MY02 OEM's. You can pick them up for about $1000 if you hunt around a bit.
(if you were considering the TUV approved, anyway)

I have the TUV-approved ones from MIM. They're still perfect, after a year of crappy weather, brake dust, and potholes.

I've been looking but it seems the supply of $1000 sets have dried up...most of what I've seen has been in the $1400-1500 area. For that price I'd rather go with a set of used aftermarkets...Gemballa or Techarts or ?

Was this through eBay or do they have a website?

Thanks Noah!

David, I feel your pain. A few weeks ago I emailed Falcondrivr(who just purchased a set) to get his advice. He had been very diligent, searching Craigslist, and Porche enthusiast sites. So, the first time I open 6speedonline, I find a very nice OEM set for $800. They are out there!
Good Luck,
Neil

I found them on ebay, and called the wheel place directly -- they're located somewhere in Los Angeles. Last summer, they cost me $1045 shipped to my door.

Default MY '02 lightweight wheels

David,

I've got a set of OEM MY 02 lightweights that I will be replacing with aftermarket wheels on my '02 Cab. 3 are perfect cosmetically and one got scratched with the last tire mount. There is no damage to the rim itself, it's just cosmetic. If you're interested then I can take some pics. I'm willing to let them go for around $1100 plus shipping to a Rennlist member. I haven't offered them for sale yet but was just poking around to see what the market for these was like and saw your post. Feel free to PM me.
