Beautiful color. Your 997 with the dymags on it was my desktop for awhile. Good luck with the car

It's amazing how close to Riviera Blue the Mexico Blue is! My friend's wife is an acomplished professional artist (glassblower) with a trained eye and she insisted that they were the same, but that the 13 year old 993 had faded a bit. I think that Mexico Blue is a little bit darker with a touch of gray (like me) compared with Riviera, but nothing like a shade darker.

Whats interesting to me is in the same colour (or very close) how much smaller the 993 looks.

Regardless both nice colours (and cars).

Exceptional 997! Despite a preference for darker blues , these are both stunning cars.
Having only driven the 997TT, how would you describe the supercharged engine in comparison?

I haven't driven a 997 turbo, so I can't compare them. But I have been told that that this setup will outrun a stock 997tt. My car dyno'd at 425 rwhp 2 weeks ago on a conservative Mustang dyno running pump gas. Remember, too, it's lighter than a tt.
I did drive a 96 turbo with PSS9s and a stock powertrain for about a year...I didn't like the clutch feel, the lag/rush delivery of power, and the awd handling quality. I missed my quick, light, 98C2S. This Mexico Blue car combines the best qualities of each of those cars. The power delivery is immediate and linear, the engine loves to rev, the clutch feel is light, and the car handles with a planted, nimble and quick, and rwd quality that is very, well, Porsche-like.
Does that make sense?

nice shots!
...any in sunlight?

I've always found that shade really plays tricks with these versions of blue.

These were taken with no staging; we didn't have the time. More photos to come.

I'll bet that's one of the only pictures in existence of those 2 model years in those 2 colors together! Really cool pics and info.

Hope you're enjoying your car.

Make it perfect. Stick a turquoise blue 993 in there too!

Good descriptive: a recent Excellence article compared the characteristics of the base 3.6 vs 3.8S versions, citing the 3.6 to be the happier engine at higher revs. If the supercharger is reasonably priced, it would add interest to shop for even a used 3.6. I'm assuming that yours is a 3.8S as it has PASM.

I was immediately struck by the much smaller appearance of the 993, too. Size wise, like putting a standard mid-sized sedan next to the 993. Remarkable.

I've reached out to the 997 board several times and to be honest, have been less than impressed by the idiots that post there. It seems that they spend most of their time trying to trash rl members than actually help anyone. Outside of a few guys who are genuinely helpful (like dan with the turquoise 997s cab), it is a waste of time.

I guess that it is tough being one of the lemmings with a gray or black car manufactured in only 16 hours....

I was really surprised by how close these two colors were in person and will definitely try to get some better shots of our cars together when there's more time.
