I guess I should have said it is going on a 996 airbag.

 

The crest won't hit you in the forehead as the part of the steering wheel it mounts to folds down and out of the way of the deploying airbag. If the cover rotates too fast, though, the crest may depart the airbag cover mid-rotation in a tangential trajectory - hitting you right in the nuts!
