We have great companies in Europe for tuning motronic ( Ruf, RS tuning, SHK....! ) but the dollar/euro parity push européen customers to look at your side of the atlantic ocean
Before buying, I would like to have some advices !!

The honorable Mr. Weiner, inhabitant and sponsor of this esteemed facility, is very knowledgable when it comes to wresting more performance out of our engines, and has been recommended many times on this board.
There is also the honorable Mr. Wong, equally a resident on these pages, who seems to have won the favour of the community.(He apparently is the proprietor of 911chips, I did not know this).
My personal take on the matter is that 'the usual suspects' of performance enhancing add-ons (the companies that make stuff for the Audi's, BMW's, Mercs and other Fords and GM's of this world) are not ideally suited to the task. Many companies have jumped on the Porsche badwagon, but none of them are proficient in the quirks of our vehicles.

I just installed one of Steve Wong's "911chips" in my 95 993. Very happy with the results Steve Wong is held in high regard in the US for honest 911 software.
Look at the dyno chart on his web site. Were else can you get 15-18 hp for $350.00.

I echo samsneed's comments. I had one in my '88 911 and loved it but have no first hand knowledge of the 993 versions. You'll find LOTS of feedback on Pelican, including one person who says there's no way to extract more power from what the factory gave you....

I had a 911chips chip in my '95, but on California gas (91 octane) I got too much pinging at wot. I put the stock chip back in after about six months. But there was a very noticable increase in oomph. No question. (Sorry, it's not for sale - I'm keeping it in case I ever move out of CA.)

I have not heard that, but I got mine used from another RLister, so I don't know anything about the particulars of my particular chip. I have read on other chip sites that 93 is required.
