I love my Cassette Holder. I get a kick out of picking my 5 cassettes that haven't been used in 12-15 years or so. Adds to the Nostalgia of the car IMO. But then again, if there isn't a cassette player in the car, it's a big waste of space. Johnny

I might get that 89$ cupholder since I don't always have someone to hold my coffee!

I will be making a compartment and leather covered arm-rest to replace mine. I frequently bump the little release switches with my elbow while driving.. Annoying, distracting and useless it is

I have the DIO-option cup holder installed in place of the cassette holder - mine has two fold-up cup holders with little ratcheting arm-grabber-things that also flip out. It's OK - I think hyphenf15's looks better - and it's a bit tricky to close until you learn the trick. It's also not a great place to locate a cup holder - easy to bump with your elbow since the cups sit on the console as a based, as opposed to being recessed like Hyphenf15's. It's reasonably sturdy, with cork bottoms in the cupholders to reduce the cups sliding.
I'd say it's an OK change, but unless you really want to use one I'd consider keeping the OEM cassette holders and (please God) the OEM cassette stereo as these are not easily replaced.
