No Way - those are gorgeous! I think they would fit in my display case.....

Andreas - where did you get the shields?

The shields are from my original mufflers. I found a spare set of cans (without shields) on Ebay and sent those to Darin. After modifying the shields, I primed and painted with high-temp paint.

Excellent Work!

I currently have the one and only Leland Pate creating the first ever LPMM 987 v.1 right now for my car:

I'm trying to get him to expand his handy work to other model series

LPMMs are louder, and have a lower growl than RSRs. LPMM does not work well on RSR mufflers, because RSRs do not have enough backpressure for the bypass pipe to have it's full effect.

I also do similar mods to 996 and 997 mufflers with excellent results.

Andreas, those look incredible! I'm glad you like the sound!

Love 'em. Going out for another run with the daughter in a few hours.

She just sits in the back with a ****-eating grin and shouts, "P-car, P-car, P-car!"

Mark,
The 997 mod sounds great. Here is a clip of a 996 with the same mod.
996/997 Stage II

Does this mod enhance your performance any or just make the car sound better?

I don't think any exhaust change will buy you much more performance on a 993. If you drill out your airbox (more air in) and do this mod (more air out), I think it is an improvement.

Cactus, they should be there Friday...hang in there, buddy!

Darin - can you do this mod to 993 turbo mufflers? If so, are there any sound or video clips available?

Charlie, I did try this bypass to a set of turbo mufflers, but the result was not as I hoped. The idle sound was too "boaty"...blub, blub, blub, blub......and on accelleration, the turbos sucked all of the sound out (they were very quiet).
I have not given up, and will continue to work on the "turbo solution".

Hmm, I kinda figured that might happen. It's tough to get a nice sound out of the TT without any obnoxious resonance or burbling. Stock it's kind of just "whooosh." I think something throaty with a tad more good resonance would be perfect.
