Default LPMM review

I installed the FisterD/LPMM mufflers today and am super pleased with the results. The car now has a nice, guttural tone while at idle, pops nicely upon decel, and exhibits absolutely no droning or any other offensive traits while underway (including a sprint to 100...).

The workmanship is excellent, and Darin's turn-around time was fantastic. My 993 now sounds as it should have all along!

Darin - thank you for the smooth transaction and the excellent results. I've attached a few pics of the mufflers, showing Darin’s work, my pathetic attempt at cleaning the cans, and my modified heat shields. I have another set of shields on the way, so I decided to sacrifice the ones I had in order to get the mufflers installed. Enjoy:

No doubt! Beautiful and I bet they sound even better! I really need to get the car lowered so I can move on to exhaust

LOL - it's the most underused room in the house! Can't wait to pop on the cans and am especially pleased that there is no drone!

Agree, those mufflers would be a decorating improvement to our unused living room.

Murder! So what did you do to the cans and how long did it take? I don't even know why I'm asking but there is something about shiny Porsche parts.....

My, those are purty.... nice work cleaning Andreas.

Darin, your welds on the bypass pipes looks better than Porsche's OE welds

Scotchbrite pads and Billet metal polish using a polishing pad and drill. No more, no less. The pictures actually mask many deficiencies....

Ummmm, nice set of cans ....

Last time I uddered that phrase years ago, it earned an icy glare ...

So, on to the tech stuff: are these the straight bypass cans, or ones that have had the internals altered as well?

I considered having the stuffing removed from mine during the LPMM mod, but decided against it at the last minute. I suppose I could always send them back for that, but I need to listen to a set with the yanked stuffing mod first.

Andreas - whats wrong with you heat shields - they look great to me.

Andreas, were your cans stock or rsr mod? I wonder how much louder the LPMM is over the rsr?
