Cracked 993tt hollow wheel; fixable or replace?
Rear driver's side wheel was slowly losing air every now and again. A few weeks ago I had my tire shop inspect the tire/wheel, dunk test and all, they found nothing. Today, I had enough, so I took off the wheel and really went over it.
Well, I found a hairline fracture on the inner rim. I don't race, but this doesn't look good (and I not sure I am responsible for it, either; I bought these used...). I will assume it is not fixable...?
Does anyone have an extra 993tt hollow spoke twist for the rear (18x10) for sale???? Rennlister discount appreciated...
BTW, I have a set of 996TT hollows in good condition sitting in my garage, if anyone is interested. Just haven't been marketing them for sale.
Here's some photos, vertical line=crack:

I'm searching the web, going to eBay, probably will contact Wheel Enhancement and salvage yards on Monday.
What a bummer! I had just decided to hold onto her until I REALLY need the larger car (end of the Summer/Fall) and Audi brings over the 3.0 TDI... ugh.

LOL. I got a set of 996's (for sale); picked up the 993s to go retro...actually, I don't need the extra 1" width for the rears (996tt wheel vs 993tt), considering the replacement cost of tires, not worth it, especially off the track...and I like the 993 twist.

Me to, I'm looking for a reasonable set of hollow spoke 993 wheels! I NEED the extra for the WB, well not really, I just like how they fill the wheel well.

I have a crack on the inner rim. The tire would go flat overnight. I took it to Wheels America today and they said that they could fix and refinish the wheel for $129. I'm going to pick up the wheel tomorrow. They have a location in northern CA

They even have a rear twist available for $325, but I'll have to call to see whether it is hollow or not (there is one for $225, so I'll assume this is hollow). Thanks for the heads-up! Let us know how the work looks after you pick it up.
I'm hesitant to use a wheel that has been damaged...I'll assume their replacement ones are remanufactured, too...No mention of Part # or offsets, either on their website.
