I think there's some confusion between multiple versions of the tool going around. I'll send to you if it comes to me first.

I just got back from my first drive since doing the mod. Steering feel is much more precise. No noticeable degradation is NVH.

Thanks to all who made this happen!!!

Default updated kit circulation list

Guys,

Here's the current circ sequence for the kit as PM'd to those below ( restocked with pins by cosmic993 ).

Roche993 --> rocket930 --> Deadeye --> Ponchobroke --> mcpiaseczny --> moots --> nels415 --> onefstm

Perhaps that will clarify any confusion .... want on the list? - PM me to mod the PM list.

Cheers,
Garth

I passed the second version of the tool to Deadeye so I think the above list need to be corrected. Is there a better way to handle the list(s) for the 2 different tools?

I forwarded 2nd tool to mcpiasecny. The bronze bushing in this version is getting very worn (oversized) and should probably be replaced if anyone can do this.

Default Garth FTW

FINALLY had a chance to drive the 993 after making the mod before Xmas

Hit the twisties where "frequent and severe" application of steering input was required

The steering response feels noticeably crisper - turn-in is immediate and feedback while turning is perceptible.

Kudos to Garth for "engineering" this mod and making the kit available.

I definitely agree that the mod made a worthwhile improvement. My car gets a lot of track miles and I feel that the rubber inside the tie rods was probably shot years ago. After alignments, I would sometimes notice that the steering wheel would not be straight even after just leaving the shop. Now it is perfectly straight and turn in feels much sharper. Can't wait to try it on race tires!

The kit is currently in my possession. I dont believe that there is anyone else in line, so is the next step to send it back to Garth?

The kit is great. Thanks to Garth and everyone else that added parts along the way!

Looks like we've run the gamut on this mod ...... unless you have a live contact, PM me for a return address: time to bronze it, and retire the tool to the mantle

It is moving on... A bit worn, a larger pilot drill helps but it still lines up OK.
