Mark,
I have bad news on the health front. I came down with an inflammed colon last night. I first thought I have appendicitis, as the symptoms are almost identical. After one full day at the Dr's office, battery of tests and CT scans, they said I do not need surgery. They can treat that with anti-biotic and pain medication. But the road trip starting Wednesday is out. So I will not be making this trip next week. The rest of the road-warriors are discussing if they would go as planned, or postone the trip until I'm up to it.
All I know is that I cannot go next week. The rest of the story will unfold shortly. Real sorry for such a downer.

The trip to Ruf will be postponed until Pong is better... prolly we'll do it on May 3rd in Dallas. Adrienne said she would reorganize the Hill country drive, but she will be at MotorSports Ranch on May 3rd. Lets start a new thread when we have more details worked out... but this date is cancelled (unless you local guys want to test it out anyway).

Where did you folks stop last year (on the right side of the road that heads north from S.A. toward Marble Falls ?) I was in the area visiting, we were headed north when I saw a gaggle of Porsches gathered at a store (or some place) on the east side of the road. It was around 11AM or Noon from what I recall. I wanted to stop and visit but the S.O. said 'no, we have a lunch appt. at 2 in Burnet'.

Yes, you are correct. I remember now , upon returning from the trip I was browsing rennlist to see what group that was that I had seen. GORGEOUS country (nice cars too). I came back from that trip wanting to move to San Antonio. What an absolute shame to see so much neglected ranchland (I was being given the scoop on why it was neglected (too much cactus and undergrowth being allowed to spread around). It was also sad to see so much of that country being ruined (that's my opinion, I know others would disagree) by monstrous housing subdivisions. Even if I had the funds, I'd want a ranch with a tiny house, not a mansion among mansions on what used to be a ranch.
