Default supercup exhaust aligment

https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1204786211

Is this normal for the right side of my Supercup exhaust from Fabspeed to hang down like this?? I tried to adjust both side where I would like both to hang down at about the same so it will not look weird. Any suggestion is highly appreciated!!

Check those two rear motor mounts (unless you've installed RS ones).

They tend to leak their silicone fluid when they get old and can cause just what you see.

Thank you for your response. I bought this used and installed couple weeks ago. The original muffler that came with the car (stock) was equally align. I personally dont think the motor mount is the cause since the original muffler was very straight. Do you think could it be anything else?

Thanks again!

You can usually just wiggle the supercups around until yo get them in the postion that you want, trial and error...

New motor mounts caused my problem. Intially, they were fine, but after a couple of months, the right one failed. I put the old ones back on and problem solved. I'm getting another set now.

If you bought real Porsche components you should be able to negotiate with the dealer or seller since they should last about 75K miles at least. 02cts worth...

As stated before, regardless of mounts, there should be enough adjustment to make them sit same.

I was always able to get both sets of mine very close to the same on my 993s. If they were thrown on in a hurry, they were usually misaligned.

This is because the std. tips are adjustable and the supercups are not. Did you have a look at your motormounts? You need to use a small mirror and a flashlight to inspect them.

Where I would agree with Chris, I think the degree in which that cup muff is hanging that badly, the stock tip would have been pointing North to take up that sort of gap It probably just needs to be heated up and manually bent. To adjust that cup muffler up it will also pertrude out more since its all one piece, so heat may be the only ay.

Thanks again. I will need to inspect the motormounts when I get back to the states.

Thanks

Another quick question. I have an early build 993. Do you know the part number for the motor mount? I want the original and not the RS.

I saw a used one on ebay, where the seller is located in HK. It stated that this engine mount is for 993, but when I chk with pelican, the part number where it shows on his EBAY photo indicated that it should be for 964. So, does anyone know what is the part number for the original 993?

Thanks

Chai,
I've come across two different part numbers for the mounts:

993.115.021.53
993.375.049.05

You may wish to check the ones currently on your car before proceeding.

Andrea:

Thanks for your help. Since I am in Hong kong now, I have no way of chking the part. I guess I will need to get back to the States and do it.

Thanks
