Darin,
Did you buy the lift directly from Greg Smith or did you have to contact a Direct Lift distributor in California? I called the Indiana 800 number this morning and when the guy found out I was in Seattle, he gave me the number of Quality Tool and Equipment in Temecula, CA. Their website shows the same Direct Lifts as Greg Smith, plus a few others from BendPak, Nationwide, Talyn.

I found the BendPak to work very well. This one is rated at 10,000#. No problems to report, except that I had to take the pads off to fit under the GT3.

I had a new driveway poured 4 years ago (13,000 sq. ft.) and I specified that the driveway must carry a 13 ton load minimum...Delivery truck and 4-5 tons of hay. The contractor poured a specific mix ratio of portland to aggregate and made it 5" thick. The tests came back after 6 days and another at 6 weeks and he reported to me that the #s were at and above the requirements...I can't remember the exact #s. He also said that concrete gets stronger over time and that the 6 week #s would get even better. Do any of you engineers out there know if this is true? Does it get stronger over time? I have had 8-10 loads of hay delivered and not one crack in 4 years.

The concrete will reach full strength at 28 days so after 6 weeeks that should be the maximum strength.

Cheers!

Hi Bruce,

Did you order the lift? Have you received it yet? How much height do you have?

I'm still waiting but I need to order soon. I have a couple of maintenance projects on the 993 and the BMW 540i.

I hope to get it ordered soon. I am going with the scissors mid rise.

Cheers
