Great suggestions and the decrease in weight would = an increase in speed. But they don't address the 50hp ^ and the increase in midrange torque. The only way to do that is with a new air filter, exhaust system, and of course the turbolator!
There is only one way to get large increases in hp and that is to move more air through the engine. On a NA car this means changing the cams. Depending on how good the intake and exhaust are these may also need to be upgraded to take advantage of the valve timing. If the heads don't flow enough it's all for not. Then the injectors may need upsizing and the ECU will have to be remapped. Then hope that the cooling is adequate.
Maybe Smartass found his own solution ?
I guess he will never be telling us about his solution the way we treat him
Sorry , couldn't resist
To sum it all up for you Smartass = unfortunately there is no such thing as easy or even cheap 50hp to be gained (but i guess if you read through all this stuff you figured that out by now).
Since the OP's name is "smartass" I'm guessing this question was posed to rile up the board
If not, then hopefully the realization has set in that 50HP on an N/A car [at least this and many other N/A high performance cars] is just not feasible without great cost outlay. Same question comes up all the time with respect to the e34 M5, which is tuned to within an inch of its life. People come in and think a chip, "CAI", and exhaust will equal 80HP. Well, If you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you.
This is all Porsche's fault for building the perfect 300HP car. Then the engine department dropped the ball and said, "We can only get 250HP out of this lump."
Management came back and said, "Can you get it up above 270? No, we don't care what it does to midrange driveability--just do it!" and the engine guys complied.
Then the chief transmission engineer put the bottle of schnapps back in his desk drawer and chose the gearbox ratios without bothering to look at the newly eviscerated powerband.
Will not give 50HP, but at least some.
I have seen remaps on rolling road (with mod mufflers) giving 15-20HP on dyno.
Then, next question, what is the best weight reductions without "destroying" the car? Battery, seats, Mufflers?
In Sweden C2S are VERY expensive (approx 70+k$)

993 C2S -97 (H&R Clubsport susp., mod mufflers, motorsound intake, 18" hollowspoke) - Current sports car
Audi A4 Avant Quattro S-Line Sports -08 - The family car
Audi A2 1.2 TDi - 03 - 2:nd family car, 3l/100km fuel cons, a fantastic car

993 C2 -97 - Gone
964 C2 Cab -90 - Gone
930 Turbo -88 - Gone

I would rather have my 2S sounding and handeling better, than just going faster.
Each to there own though.
I reckon Porsche did a pretty good job as they are now. Way faster than I ever need too.
