I agree, that would be a nice solution, assuming the RS tie rods are cheap enough, and your original outer half is still in good shape.

Gert is selling the EVO uprights + tie rods and bearings for 1250 euros (bump steer kit).
Anybody knows the price of the RS tie rods ?

The RS guys would be happy to see many RS outer halves for sale :-)

EDIT : Found it. $351 for one RS tie tod on Pelican... (993-347-031-80)
RS parts are really expensive here !

Does it help to simply replace tie rods with new stock ones? Or does the rubber harden over time--so the new ones are actually floppier, as sometimes happens with rubber motor mounts.
