Default Power Steering Resevoir

What does Porsche recommend used in the PS Resevoir? Rack is leaking a bit in my 993 and I need to top her off.

Thanks in advance for the input.

ATF DEX II or III, both compatible together
to top up you do not need to buy ATF oil.
You would be needing an expresso sized cup of oil.
Get that from a friend or neighbour, or your second car

Dextron II and III is difficult, if not impossible, to find in the US. One of the FEW things that will be compatible is Pentosin CHS 11S or the later version (20S?). Be very careful what you use.

Porsche has a TSB a year or to old that says Pentosin 11S has been superseded by Pentosin 202.

So you can just put ATF in it?

I was going to flush mine out, & I have a few bottles of Redline D4 ATF sitting on the shelf.

My bad. (Note to self: ALWAYS remember to check the Owner's Manual!) Requirement is for Dex IID, and THAT is the stuff that is impossible to find. After topping mine up with the WRONG stuff, I started looking into this and the ONLY thing that I could find that is a fail-safe replacement for IID is Pentosin CHF 11S plus the later version that Pentosin put out (20S??) I checked directly with Pentosin directly as well as several other sources at the time and posted detailed information regarding this on RL previously.

IID and 11S are "miscible" ("mixable"), so you can top off your original factory fill of IID with the 11S. I chose to use most of a fresh liter of 11S to dilute the IID by replacing the quantity in the reservoir, driving, then repeating that process two additional times, which is about a 60% replacement. (~8 oz reservoir and ~32 oz total system)
