You know
I would not kick that 997 out of my garage. Both are stunning cars.

The scale of the two cars is interesting... I guess I didn't fully realize/appreciate the size diff between our 993s and the 997s... Great pics, btw...

Targa,

Did you do a complete color change on Project Orange? Absolutely beautiful result BTW.

I was born and raised in HK. Though never knew how to drive when I was there. I'm missing a lot I see.

Awesome car. Enjoy in great health.

My 993 is a 68.3 inch narrow body and not a wide body.

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, the car was repainted blood orange. Its original colour was arctic silver. There is quite a car community here but we have few place to stretch our legs. I returned to the spot where we took the photos on Sunday and the car park of some 12 or so spaces was full of mainly Porsches (including a 997 Turbo and GT3 RS), 3 Lambogini Gallardos, a 430 Ferrari, with only 1 car not from these exotic brands.

All the best,

Both cars compliment each other nicely! The 997 may be dimensionally wider but it just doesn't have dramatic pronounced taper in the mid section into the wide hips like the 993. I was just over there in December. You guys in HK sure pay handsomely for your registration plates.

Woe and shame is me. I did not have my camera with me. I was a loner taking a visiting friend for a drive and breakfast and not part of that up-market group.

Harlan,

You are so right. First registration doubles the price. So even with all the work I did on Project Orange, the total cost including the base car came out less than a 997 Carrera and a little more than a Cayman S, or to put it another way, half the cost of a new 997 GT3 RS.

All the best,
