Totally off topic ~ sort of.
This question is for Steve - possibly. Is there a Bilstein resource for the Japan Domestic Market that you have a relationship with?
I'd like to buy the Bilstein kit model, BTS5056J which is only sold in Japan. Here's a bilstein link to the kit. http://www.bilstein.co.jp/pdf/outback_bts.pdf The kit is struts, coil springs, shock, etc., specific to the raised ride height of the Subaru Outback wagon cars.
I found this JDM tire company, a Bilstein retailer offering the kit. http://www.hirano-tire.co.jp/bil/bil4.htm The BTS 5056J kit is in the middle of the page and offered for a street price of approx. $1225.00 USD. So this is where I'm stuck - how to go about buying the kit? Shipping can be remotely arranged through, FedEx, UPS, etc.
Any clues?
In checking with a commercial importing company their fee adds an additional $600.00 ~ Maybe I should quit my day job. (This XT Outback is our Vail, Colorado ski wagon...)

Choose whatever vendor you want, but I'll have to say that the one mentioned here will go above and beyond for you, even if prices are a little higher. He has spent a ton of time helping me decide on some things and I have yet to send him my first penny. That will soon change.

I have no contacts for JDM components so I cannot offer anything useful beyond pointing out that such suspension parts carry no US warranty. If you have any problems, it must be sent back to Japan for resolution.

You ought to be able to buy it direct from the retailer and its small enough to be shipped via UPS, FedEX, DHL, etc. I don't know what duties/fees might apply since I do not import from Japan.

Hi Steve and thanks for the swift reply ~ Yeap, good piont that if a failure should happen it would be complicated. Sure would like to see Bilstein USA get on board with the application.
