Default door stop binding sound

This should be trivial, but my driver door just started making a modest sound when passing in either direction through the door stop position - like a soft clunk. I lubed everywhere I could with WD-40, and this reduced the sound but it is still there. (On an old BMW M6 this sound was a harbinger of a welding job, so i hope this is not the case here.) What is the greasing/maintenance process for the door stops?

You're close.. search on door strap and you will find lots of information.

I bought new ones from Pelican and replaced mine.

WD40 isnt really that great of a lubricant. Best would be to try some grease, perhaps a white Lithium. There is also a DIY that some knucklehead wrote here: http://p-car.com/diy/doorcheck/

This mod will take some of the pressure off the door check strap assembly and perhaps save the anchor from being torn from the door jam sheet metal.
