I got a great deal for a wood and black leather shift **** and a black and wood e-brake handle. $100 for both items and they are in perfect condition.
My car has tan interior but I've always thought a black shifter and e-brake would go well with the black already in the car.......whatever, I'll post pics if I get this done.
The problem, I used P-car DIY site info to get the e-brake handle installed (kind-a proud of myself) but the shifter has a totally different bottom to it. I pulled off my **** and it has a thin slot in the bottom. The new **** has a much larger rectanglular hole in the bottom of it. How do I get the new **** to fit on the skinny metal shifting rod??? Is the new **** strictly for a C4, my car is 2wd?
Look in the 993 PET6 catalogue, 1st page of group 7 ( hand lever systems).
There are 2 ribbed rubber inserts and a spring clip ( items 34,25, and 36) used to fit the **** to the lever. The clip fits the slots in the **** shaft, and the rubbers slip over the lever prior to installation.
Momo sells a shift **** hardware kit ($7.95) with rubber spacers of various sizes. I used it to fit my momo **** to the car. Another option to look into.
Garth, Thanks....just the info I needed. I love this site. I Googled the catalogue, found it, downloaded it and saved it to my computer, awesome.
Sorry PorscheGuy, this deal was just one of those right place / right time things. Was visiting my indie and he had this **** & brake set just sitting around, was out of a 993 tt. He said for $100 cash they were both mine.
