V1 and Laser?
This is related to the recent V1 thread...and so my question is....is there ANYTHING out there that can warn/defeat the laser, or is it a simple matter of physics with the "instant on", i.e., it's too late?

you can install a laser diffuser on the front and rear of your car, basically it is a laser that fires at 904nm specturm same as the police lidar which will confuse their reading so they wouldn't be able to get a speed detection on your car.
You can have the diffuser to setup to fire when the radar detects the lidar or to have it on all the time.
But it is against the law to have something like this as it interfers with police work....

Radar jammers are illegal per FCC.
There is no law against broadcasting invisible light from your car ie laser jammers. Plenty of high end cars with laser assisted cruise control do this from the factory. GMC rear third brake lights emit laser wavelengths as well on serveral models of their SUVs.

as far as laser jammers/diffusers, according to the website guysoflidar.com, "Currently there are no US federal laws prohibiting the use of laser jammers.
However, some states have passed their own laws against jamming police laser guns."

The reason for this is that upon warning and the jam you should have slowed down and if the officer takes a second shot at your car he till get a valid reading.
That said sunlight, reflections and user error can all cause an officer to get a bad reading. I beleive there is only one laser gun out that displays a code when jammed. All the others fail to get a reading.

The quality laser jammers stop emitting for a few seconds after they detect a laser hit.
