I love the "books and keys." Speaks volumes (in a good way):

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/553775467.html

In case the link dies:

1988 Porsche Carrera Coupe, 91k miles, Black exterior/Linen interior, power seats, AC, 5 speed, 100 percent original, no paint work, no accidents, 1 owner car Doctor owned car with no stories. Original 6 and 7 inch alloys (black spoke with polished lip). Have all keys and books.

$19,000 or best offer.

Call 310-503-7136 if interested to arrange a viewing.

it doesn't say if it is a G50, if so, that isn't too bad of a price assuming it checks outwell. My friend paid $18.5K for a G50 Carrera about 2 years ago.

It's a G50 -- all 911's got the G50 starting in '87.

I thought G50s started in 88.5? so there are early 88s that don't have G50, or am I off by a year?

I could only find these 0-60s:
'86 Cab, 5.7
'89 Cab, 6.5
Even 6.5 isn't horrible...

Slow? Maybe not the 4-second-to-sixty/mid12's-quarter car that seems so common place today but hardly slow! I think maybe we've become jaded by the horsepower boom of the last few years. I think these are great cars, the very car that got me interested in the marque all those years ago!

And, my ex-'87 G50 Carrera...a great car now owned by my brother. These are the last "edgy" 911's.

Been trying to convince a buddy to sell his Boxster S and get into the air-cooled camp for sometime. He caved and bought this 89 Cab.....32k on the clock. Stock and Mint. Paid $29k.

We drove from Richmond to Philly at 6am last Sunday Morning to pick it up. If I added to the garage with another Porsche, I'd seriously consider this car. Guards Red over Black for me though........
