Many of the scruts are mechanics and would most definitely know the difference between stock and non-stock.

Is there any grey area in this rule concerning Evo uprights?

A. Suspension pick-up points must remain as stock in location and type.

Wonder if this would be a valid argument since the only difference in the EVO uprights is the location and orientation of the toe link mounting, outboard.

I dont think there is much grey area here.... its pretty well spelled out...

2. Add to Stock class rules: “Spacers to adjust the height of the steering rack and pinion are allowed.” This is allowed, but not currently published.
3. Add to Prepared class rules: “Spacers to adjust the height of the tie rod end at the steering arm are allowed.”

But from all that I can tell (I have to admit i have not had the two side by side), Chris is right, unless you have a mesuring tape or find the part number, it would be a very keen eye to tell the difference. Anyone have them side by side??? would like to see how they compare.

If you have a keen eye and looking for it, they are easily noticed -- the tie rod mounts from the bottom up whereas the std the other way around. Other than that, I would be difficult to see. Then again, nice new castings vs. cosmoline everywhere else might be a tip-off as well.
