Default Finally the missus has a Porsche. C2S Tip

My better half has only been driving for the past 8 years and for quite some time has wanted me to buy her a Porsche. (before you ask she's 51) I have been reluctant as I wanted her to gain some experience prior to buying her a 911. A year ago I took her to look at a 993 tip. (she only has an automatic license). She drove the car (has been in lots of 911's but never driven). but did not like the colour. She then drove a 996C4S cab and her words what a piece of crap. My Smart car is built better than this. Anyway long story short I ended up buying her an X5 BMW that she never liked, finally I sold it (don't ask how much I lost) and a good mate in the trade let me have a 993C2S at a very good price (I believe) so finally she has a 911. It's silver with blue leather, part black dash and door panels. 95,000 miles, 2 owners and full PSH bar the last at the independant. The car drives like it's brand new. Unbelievable and just brings home to me the bullit proof build quality of these cars when they have been looked after and not messed around with. It's a comfort spec car on 17" cups and has all the toys including cruise control. So now I can get my 911 fix as and when I want (if she'll let me) whilst the other 993 is wrapped up in cotton wool for the winter. They are awesome.

Sounds great, Graeme. You have the best of the 993 world - one totally driveable, daily car and one performance beast!

You are very lucky. My wife hates cars.
Do you really have two licences there? One for manual and one for auto?
I have never heard such a stupid rule if it's true.
Hope your wife enjoys the car.
Cheers

If you take your driving test in a manual gearbox car then you can drive both. If you take it in an automatic you can't drive a manual. cheers guys

Graeme, just made the same move. After years of Concours & DE cars that my wife put up with, it was time to share. She had no interest in learning to drive manual but wanted a P-Car to drive. Answer...sold my 356T6 & 912R (911R copy) & found a 1997 993 Tip C2, Ocean Blue, 30K miles, mint. Her favorite was my 964 C2 cab to travel in but couldn't drive. We are thrilled with it except it was delivered late November & we drove it 10 miles before the snow set in here in Upstae NY. Best move we've made & got a performer too, enjoy ! Steve

It's a thing of beauty when the husband and wife can both enjoy the Carrera as equal partners.

Ocean Blue Metallic is a fantastic colour, same as my GT2. When the sun hits it the shade differences and that turquise mica in the paint make it one of the best Porsche colours ever.

Graeme, That's what I'm told ! North of Syracuse NY here & not a lot of sun to see it's shades in the "snow belt". We were supposed to be at a PCA planning meeting yesterday in Oswego NY until 40" of snow fell there. I had a choice between Iris Blue or the Ocean Blue, wifey chose Ocean, either would have been fine.
