Neurotic Seller Story - UPDATED
I wasn't going to post this but the seller won't leave me alone. If its inappropriate to air my story here, I will delete this thread.
Here is the generic story:
*************
I see a classified ad on RL. I email for pics and history. I have a VERY NICE local RLer look at the car and get a good report back.
I offer full asking price (pending a PPI) and a deposit. I am given the run around and told to talk to the mechanic. I talk to the mechanic. He says the car is great.
The next day I am told they don't have time to get a PPI done, even though they are retired and spend most of the day playing tennis. I tell them no deal. Then they say I am wasting their time, the mechanics time, and the local RLers time. They will only sell the car without inspection. BTW, I was asking for a PPI to be done at THEIR mechanic!
Then the car is taken off the classifieds.
WTF? I figure they found a local seller or had a better deal. Thats cool, I'll find another car. Problem is they won't stop sending me harassing emails.
More digging finds this same seller had the car for sale in 2004, 2006, 2007, and now 2008. Yet, they say I am a "tire kicker" and "can't pull the trigger". I think maybe its the other way around?
I know the seller is reading this because they have a lot of time on their hands. This, despite the fact, that they told me all RLers are "a**holes" because they just talk crap." The seller says they are done talking to me but continue to send me harassing emails!
So to the seller, PLEASE stop harassing me (and turn off your caps lock).
Its too bad. I really wanted this car!
EDIT: I will NOT reveal who this seller is. Thats sinking to their level. The ONLY reason I posted this is in hopes they will stop harassing me.
***********
So the hunt continues. Thank you all for your information, education, and support!

If everything you're saying is true, and I've been around long enough to know there are two sides to every story, then it's ludicrous for the sellers to not permit a PPI. Of course a buyer is going to wonder what they're hiding. I don't care how busy you're are; if you want to sell a car, do what you need to do to make a nicer buyer happy, unless, of course, you want to remain nthe owner of the car.
Note: this is just another Rennlister talkin' crap.

above all DO NOT have the ppi done by their mechanic. Sure seems to be lots of 993s popping up for sale lately. Relax .. you're up north anyway and I'm thinking we'll see more for sale over the next 6months than we've seen in awhile.

Although I don't believe the saying.... perhaps this worked out for the best. Good luck, you'll find the right one. And, you have a great story. Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like the seller has something to hide...and everytime he goes to sell the car..whatever he is trying to hide pops up in a PPI...maybe the car was in an accident...Good thing you passed...Go get a car that will pass a PPI with flying colors.
Good Luck!
