Custom built Speedline wheels
Fellow Speedline Enthusiast,
I am building a custom size set of wheels now for a 930 with much different offset than our 964/993 cars use. Some wheel halves I bought used, some I had made to my specifications, the previous rear outer hoops got moved to the front. So sometimes you just have to go for it.
This set will be 9.25" x 18 fronts and 11.25 x 18 rears. The rears will be deeper than even the 964 RSR wheels everone wishes would fit on a 965.
For your viewing pleasure and a tease of what can be. Just so you know these centers will be painted purple -- who says everything has to be metallic silver.

Wow Jim that's looks like the bussiness to me ! Just a general question, are the wheelcenters a "unifit" system? E.g do all wheelcentres of 18" wheels have exactly the same diameter? They may have different no. of bolts in them, but I guess the rimhalves can be drilled accordingly? From where did you buy the rim halves? What about quality? TIA

Rims can be straightened if not bent too bad, you have to check the centers as well as the rear hoops as the impact can bend all three pieces. I do not have any spare Kinesis rim halves, but I can order new parts depending on your needs. I do have the common sized Speedline rim halves available as well as spare bolts and nuts.
The last set of Kinesis wheels I replaced the 6mm bolts/nuts with next larger sized bolts and used stainless steel bolts and new nuts.
The particular Speedline wheel center you are looking at is an Aliseo it was drilled for Porsche pattern as well as Jaguar, and others. It was Speedlines offering for other people to get 3piece wheels that look like the 993 RS wheel that they made for Porsche. Still overall I think it is good looking wheel. The rim halves are specific to each manufacturer.

Burning Brakes
So Jim...
The wheels you have posted are being set-up for a 930.. what year... and I assume from the depth of the lip that this will eliminate the spacers used?
How many hole wheel half is that?
I have a set of 18" Kenesis super cups, belive them to be 9 & 10s.. I'm looking to get the deeper outer lip as you have pictured. Is this something you can help me with and what info on my wheels will you need?
Thanks,
Paul

The front wheel 9.25" x 18 the ET was 45 this wheel uses the standard 964/993 size inner hoop, wheel center is obviously the same. the ET in the rear has changed significantly. Went from a 8" hoop down to a 5.25" hoop and changed the outside hoop was 1.75" to a whooping 6" wide so while the width was increased only by 1.25" these were done for a 930 not a 964/993 car. Most of the early cars require a 2-3" spacer to use the late model wheels, so these now fit and shove the outer rim all the way out to the edge of the fender. Sorry I may not have answered your question. Jim
