Default Taking a brief 993 sabbatical...

After almost two years of 993 addiction, I’ve decided to go cold Turkey and sell my cars. My business is at the verge of entering a very positive inflection point and I’ve decided to prioritize my business/investment opportunities and my family. I hope that by investing in these two areas with singular focus now will enable to me to come back to my p-car addiction soon with more $$$ and time to play.

I hope you guys don’t mind me hangin’ around here from time to time; I may be selling my cars but I’m still a 993 guy and I plan on visiting with my 993 pals from time to time. And since I know just how much we all like looking at pics of 993s, here’s a brief history of my love affair and steep 993 slope…
  • The 95 cab was my first 993. Awesome car but after the track bug hit, I had to get a coupe.
  • The 96 polar C4S was the second. I bought it to track it but it was 100% stock and not a week went by when this came up for sale...
  • The 98 met black C4S. Bought it from another RLer with lots of RS goodies and a close-ratio box among many very other nice mods. I'm going to miss the beast...
  • After trying to justify owning two C4Ss, I decided to sell the silver C4S. While looking to see what else was available for sale locally, I found a car I just had to own...a local, well documented, immaculate blk/blk C4S with heated sport seats, alu package, litronics, HI FI and motorsound. I just couldn't pass it up so I bought it...and now it has to go.

Louis....

Takes a big gulp to unload these gems I'm sure. Good for you to take the higher road and put family and self employment opportunities first.

What line of work are you in ? Best of luck in all venues.

Hans: Thanks for the best wishes. We'll have to get together soon to do the RSR switcheroo. I'll be in touch.

Matt: Kinda in the same boat as you...selling but only to replace with another 993. The only difference is that my transition will probably be a little longer.

Keith: I love both my cars. The new one has only 30k mi and it's local (rare and highly desirable here in Vancouver) so it's a very rare find that I hate to part with but it's a good exercise in detachment and ultimately this is an investment. I'm an early investor/executive in a public oil and gas company. It's been a 3.5 year investment so far and 2008 holds much promise, which is why I have to be very focused and my hobbies have to take a second seat. Hopefully everything will go as planned and I'll have more latitude to play later.

Mark: Turn of evnts indeed. Last year I thought I was gonna sign up for club racing this year and now I'm selling my p-cars and buying a wagon! I really appreciate all the input and support from you in helping me figure out how to satisfy the motorsport bug. Hopefully when I return to the p-car fold I'll be searching for a prepared car like yours. You're a great contribution to the forum.

Viggo: looking forward to seeing you in a new S buddy...

Chuck: thanks and I will be around from time to time.

Randy: I hope I still get an invitation to Mike's when the time comes. I'll probably be driving an Audi Avant but at least it's German.

PMs will be replied to soon.

Nice rides! I would LOVE to own another 993 C4S, it's just not in my budget.

Thanks Stealth. Love your ride and I'm glad you ended up buying it despite the issues with the dealer. There are 993 get-togethers here in Van from time to time and a few of the WA guys make it up...you should try to make it up here some time...

Let's start a pool to see how long Louis can stay Porsche-less; I say not much longer than May!
Just kidding buddy! I wish you all the best with your plans. Just don't be a stranger!
Tim.

I got up a few time a year, I have a good friend who lives just outside the city. Of course I've done Mission a few times.

I have a nice Canadian Audi S4, with 400hp, I'll trade ya, for the C4?

Actually, he's got a set of cat pipes coming his way that you can help him with

All the best on your venture Louis hope to see you around.

Yeah Louis - like to see you get your hands dirty
We'll probably get together at Mike J's place when the RSR's come off - this will give me some options to play with between the MotorSound and the RSR on the new Dach X-pipes.

Btw - Louis - did you get my PM from today. I see no history of it that I send one.

And yes Timmy - I can see Louis getting a race ready 993 by summer.......
