Fantastic car Robin. You have great taste in cars for sure! I look forward to seeing a full DIY site on this thing! Then maybe I'll convince myself to buy one some day. Congrats man.

Way to go. Congratulations on a stunning looker. That is one beautiful looking and sounding machine. No one can assult your senses like the Italians can. For me a Ferrari is like an outstandingly beuatiful woman: a living work of art, high maintenance and way out of my financial reach. But I would love to have the experience one day.
I hope she brings you much joy and not many head/heart aches.

Congrats.. She is a beauty. But, I must say this LOUD... WHAT ARE YOU %^&*% CRAZY??? 1000 miles per year??? That's just crazy talk. I barely ever drive my 997 Turbo, I've had it for 17 months and it has 6000 miles on it.
Drive that car man, drive that car !!
Also, cars and coffee, is that down in Newport Beach? I might be headed down to that so my friend can wring out his new, OLD M5.
Look for me, not sure if I will be in the C2S or Mr. Animal yet...

Congratulations Robin, nice car! I have seen the insides of this car since my body shop does lots of these cars. He mostly fixes the front ends since people curb them a lot...so be carefull. Is the a FPB for the Ferrari?
Once, Boris (owns the shop) showed me a trim piece of a newer Ferarri. It was plastic, about 4" long by 2" wide, with a little hinge on the end. I think it was to cover the headlight squirters or something like that. That piece was over $1200 and took six weeks to get.
So, be carefull but definitely enjoy the car!

Your Ferrari is exactly the color combination that I would like to have someday. Like many on this list, I am hesitant to buy one until I know the joys & perils of ownership. Please be sure to post your comments on this thread as you learn more about the car. Heck, I'd love to see a section on Rennlist dedicated to "other cars" from the perspective of die-hard Porsche owners. A Ferrari section would be at the top of my list.
I truly love Porsches, but lust for a Ferrari!

Ok, for sure cars and coffee this Saturday. I will try to get there by 7:00am, it is a 7-9 gathering. So....
Something Viken said to me long time ago when I first started to look for a Ferrari. He said "If you can't afford a 360, don't buy a Ferrari", there is a lot of truth to what he said, because I placed deposit on 2 F355s which both failed PPI. So I started searching for a low price 360 in the 90-100 range. Well, and there was an old saying you get what you pay for.
The Ferrari used car market is very different than the Porsche used car market. After searching for the right 360 for 6 month! (I have never taken this long to buy a car, usually 1-2 weeks tops) I was to the point of extreme fraustration and wasabout to quit my search then the right car at the right price came along.
Big factors that really effects the resale of a Ferrari, and price have nothing to do with it. People don't care how cheap it is, they want service records, low miles, some must have options. Those cars will sell for high price regardless what the market is doing. The dealers knows that and just hold on to the car until the right buyer come along.
I was amazed at how good a well taken care of right optioned Ferraris held it's price. For example the 360 Challenge Stradale, used car sold for about $185k 3 years ago, and today it is bring in the same exact price, and sometime more! A 2000-2001 360 is still bring in $120k anyday of the week, again the price have not move a lot in the last couple years. There are 360 in the 90k range, but they are either high mile, no records, or an Euro car.
I paid $150k for my 360 spider out of the door after taxes and everything. The sale tax along was $10,000, and then there were the registration which was another $900. Basicall the car was $137k + 1% broker fee. I used a broker to find this car at almost wholesale price, a 02 spider with the options on my car will run anywhere from $150k-$160k range still.

Sorry, more Ferrari talk. The 360 is really the first Ferrari that is very reliable, and very easy to drive. I was able to get very comfortable in driving the 360 in matter of minutes! Serious minutes. Took me several month to learn how to drive the 993 without stalling it. The 360, perfect! effortless!
In actual reality, the 360s are not that bad to work on. Just don't buy the F1 version. LOL! There are plenty of space in the engine bay to work, the transmission because of the mid engine layout is in the rear of the car, also plenty of space to remove the transmission once you remove the rear bumper.
The 360 also have access panel behind the seats which allow you to change the timing belt without dropping the motor. Just change the oil, trans fluid, coolant, plugs at 30k, and the belt at 30k or 4 years, then you are all set. The remote key FOB is exactly the same as the Porsches, the Becker radio is the same as the ones on the 996 (but with more feature).
The 430 is even better with the timing chains instead of belts, very low service. I read somewhere that the president of Ferrari set out to make Ferraris lower maintenance like 10 years ago, they tried it with the F355 and really made a hugh step forward with the 360s. And we will see more newer model Ferraris being even lower maintenance and reliable.
Anyways, we will see..........
