Default cracked rim

I never thought that I'd wear out a rim! Had a tire go down and turns out there is a crack on the inner lip of the rim. I haven't wacked anything lately, so I assume that the metal is fatigued. Back in 1996 the 17" wheels that came with the C4's were the big wheels. I have 2 sets of 17" tires (blizzaks and michelin pilot's) with life still in them. There doesn't seem to be much of an assortmentof 17" rims out there.

Can you get it repaired? They often weld up rims to correct abraision etc.

Cheers,

Mike

What kind of wheels, 17" cups? Those seem to be pretty inexpensive - you could buy four in decent condition, have them refinished into better condition than your current wheels, and install a whole new set rather than settling for the repair. You can also occasionally find a single wheel for sale, which you could have refinished to match your other wheels if they are in better condition.

I was victimized by the same issue on my LR 17" Cup. Experts at Wheel Enhancement said for some uncanny reason, they see this issue fairly often. However, the replacement wheel, wasn't cheap...out here in SoCal it was $989. Best of Luck.

You can get it repaired/repainted up here in Vancouver for close to $200. So if you can get a single replacement for $200 or less then I would just buy another wheel, otherwise get it fixed.

Cheers,

Mike
