I put one on my lowered 964 and its been fine. Its a piece of metal that gets scraped up! I dont know how much R&D goes into a metal bar with a couple welded on mounting plates but I would bet it wouldnt be much over 1/2 hour
If he has a patent on it maybe he should go after these guy. They have been selling them for quite a while.

You're right; it is just a piece of metal, but there's more to it than that. I don't want to give my business to a lying charlatan who rips off Gert, a respected Rennlist sponsor. When Pierre Tien aka Patrick Tien aka Dixon Kwong got pnwed by John D., it was not the first time he he had run afoul of a car forum, so it's not like Tien had "no idea" that what he was doing was unethical. Rather, he knew precisely what he was doing to the board.
If you haven't read the first thread in my previous post, you might want to give it a gander to have a better understanding of what a low-life Tien is.

I have an appointment next Tuesday with my mechanic. We will be discussing suspension options. I think I'm leaning toward RoW M030 withthe Bilstein HD's. Not sure how much I will lower the car. I plan to talk to him about the FPB and I will let you know.
Incidentally,( and apologies for hi-jacking the thread, but for thse of you running this set up, how many mm's did you lower your cars?

I got my FPB from Viper Bob...Around $115 if I remember correctly...Fit perfectly and bolted right up.
As an aside, these devices really provide very little "protection" in the true sense of the word...They're great for feeling out high curbs in parking lots at slow speeds and preventing skinned up front ends, but if you hit something at anything above a crawl, it's gona f**k up your car even if you have a bar in place.

I'm interested based on price. I hate that the current conversion rate is so bad for the dollar.

Flame suit on....
I'm cheap, there I said it! haha I purchased one of these bars from ebay ($85 US vs whatever Euros the other one is) and I've had no issues with installation.
When my mechanic installed it he commented on how beautifully done the welds were.
For me it was about price/quality; not who it's made by.

I did not know about the history of the ebay bar when I pulled the trigger but fit and quality is very good. It already saved my bumper 5 times within 6 weeks. If you lower your car in the US you will learn that a FPB is a must.

I had the FPB (from Gert) on my car for a while, but at my particular ride height, the bar would hit things that the car would have missed without it. One such thing was my own driveway - at any reasonable entry/exit speed it would crunch - I had to craaaaaawl in and out to avoid scraping.
So, I took the bar off, and now I can go in and out of my driveway at normal speeds without worry. (No it's not for sale - I may change my mind again and put it back on.)
