I am very uncomfortable with putting any money down before I have the inspection and his definition of serious can greatly differ then mine. Is this common practice in HK? Please help!

Thanks!
ddsiu, I bought both my P's privately but 4 years ago I came close to buying from a dealer. He had no problem with me wanting to have the car inspected by Jebsen and did not push me for a deposit. But maybe things have changed. The market is really hot here now. Personally, I would never sign up and put a deposit down without having the car inspected by Jebsen or one of the Porsche specialist independent shops. Good luck with your search. I would try and be patient (something I am not good at). There are comparitively a lot of Porsches in HK so something good will eventually come up - Porsches make up an incredible 2% of all cars in HK!

cartoon blue, sorry you are selling your beautiful 993. Good luck with the sale.

Hay Chris, how is your car, so did you ask Mr W to redo the color for you? Can we see some more pics of your car?

cartoon blue, the car is done (except for the ecu reprograming) and I picked it up today to identify the odd issue here and there. I will take it back next week to clear up a few little things. And I thinnk the new colour (blood orange) is stunning, but colur is so personal. I know a lot of people will think it is over the top. Funny thing though, few people including the 6 or so Porches I passed did not give it a second look, but that is HK. The only thing I am not overly happy with is the sound of the exhaust (100 cell cats and standard mufflers). It sounds indistrial and in no way nice. Sorry, no pictures yet.

Forest, Sorry I cannot remember the source on the 2% but it floored me when I read it last year.
