Grandma and me
I was just perusing some pics on my computer and found a couple of me and Grandma that I felt like sharing. My wife and I flew her out here from South Dakota about four months ago. She was 86 years old. She passed away two weeks after her visit, but it sure was nice seeing her one last time - not to mention giving my 11 year old son the opportunity to spend time with his Great Grandma. After all, how many of us have lasting memories of our Great Grandparents?
She insisted that I take her for a ride in the p-car. So, after assisting her into the lowered ride and strapping her into the 5-point harness, away we went. She was thrilled. Especially when I nonchalantly mentioned we were leisurely cruising at about....well, let's just say "a high rate of speed"........ I guess they don't do that much out in S.D.
The look on her face (and mine) says it all.

So how did she handle the four wheel drift in the thrid picture??
Just kiddin... that's really cool memory with your GM. All four of my Grandparents died before I was 8, so I never got those memories. Cherish them...

I just became a grandparent this year, and now I'm looking forward to going for a ride with my grandson in his Porsche 999(?) in about 30 years ... thanks for sharing, and let me assure you of how important this is from the other side of the coin :-)

I wish that I had a Grandmother like that! You are very fortunate and so is she! Congratulations to you and your family for having her in your life for as long as you did. God Bless her!

What a great picture!
Grandparents are special. I lost one Grandpa when I was young, the other three I lost in a three month window in 2005. I was very close with Grandma on my Mothers side. Each year for the Denver GP, I always set aside an extra week to stay with her there in Colorado. Certainly was a highlight to the year!
