Car Cover
1997 993 C2 - picking up soon- any recommendations for car covers? I'd like to get something multipurpose that I can put on indoors to protect it from dust in the garage and from the rain in the event it rains while I have it at the office.
If have ideas about brand and where to purchase, or if you have a good quality used one for sale I would very much appreciate the advice.
Many thanks.

I like the Coverking brand "weathershield". If I had to get another one I'd step up to the "weathershield HD", expensive at over $300 but lightweight for indoor use, fairly water resistant for outside. The only real drawback is that it won't stay on well in a wind even with the under-car cable; the cable seems like it might scratch paint on the rocker panels in a strong wind (I use a rope tie-down instead). Enjoy your new ride.

I used the cover wizard on pelican parts. I would recommend getting something that is heat resistant in the back, so your exhaust tips don't ruin your cover.

The only cover worthy of a 993...

I got one off of Pelican Parts too and I swear it scratches the paint. The worst area is on the rear rocker. Do all car covers do that. It fits great though. Someone recommended using flannel sheets as another option.

I have a Porsche Silverguard that seems to work well (indoor & outdoor). It has flannel stitched on the inside where key contact points are (rear rocker, etc). I put a folded fleece blanket over the rear fenders (under the cover) for winter storage to provide a little extra cushsion should someone bump/brush against it in garage. Those back fenders sticking out just seemed like the were asking for "someone" (ie kids) to bump them with something.

Funny, same topic was just discussed on another forum in the uk.
I've always used Californai Car Covers for their custom fit and the large selection of different materials. You can trick out you cover with any material, color, graphics, etc., prices are reasonable and I've found them to be nearly indestructrible.
Also, of all the covers I've tried, they have the softest inside and edges, so not scratches ever.

Order a Porsche Tequipment Euro spec car cover, made by the same folks as the cover you mentioned.
FWIW, I have 3, one for the 996TT, 968 and one for the 993 Targa.
For a 993 with stock bodywork, no turbo or aerokit with turbo like rear spoiler, it's 000-043-202-93 it's $246.65 (and a month from Germany when I ordered)
