Smile GEMBALLA C4S - ISTANBUL, TURKEY

Finally I almost decided to take a plunge and buy a 993.
My weekend drive is a 2005 Subaru Sti. I like the car but the ride is too harsh even for my taste in Istanbul roads. Looked around and I think I found a good, clean 993.
1995, 37 K Kilometers, kept in a garage, full service history, engine chipped to 320 HP, Gemballa spoilers, brakes, wheels and all the original items like the wheels and tyres are included in the deal. Low springs but originals are kept as well.
Price is steep in US standarts because of heavy taxation.
Just have a look at the pictures; what do you think?
Regards.

Very nice. What do you know about the 'chip'? The ones available in the US tend to add an optomistic 12 - 15hp.

not close, those are two different cars totally

First car is a ROW 96 (my guess, german car)
Second car is a US or Canada 1995

Probably you are right.
This car was advertised in a couple of web sites in Turkey and I presume they lifted the picture from a US site.
The car in question is the first one.

The chip?
I am checking it. There will be a Porsche inspection to check the car and I will talk to the indy shop about the chip.
I drove the car today both in motorway and stop-go city traffic and it was amazing; despite lowered suspension and hard tyres, the ride was excellent and it indeed is an everyday car. Quite a change from the Subaru Sti.
As to the interior; I hate grey. But it is part of the package. Steering wheel is Gemballa by the way; still grey but a lot of dollars.

I drove in Istanbul two months ago. The roads are not as bad as in some other places. The traffic is a bit crazy, but, again, it's not as bad as in other places I've driven. There are some horse drawn carriges once on the road in a while, but not often. I've only seen a couple in 4 days of driving.

As far as grey interior, if it's clean it's very classy. Of course that's a matter of personal taste.

The wing is Gemballa. So are the wheels.
But I like stock cars. I do not really know what to do with these Gemballa bits. Maybe, I can turn the car back to the original.
Feelings on that?

In Istanbul, roads are generally OK. But the city is like a building site.
Constant digging for anything and everything. Roads, gas, fibre-optic cabling... New buildings.. You name it.
In the morning, the road is OK but on your way home in the evening, on the same road, you cross through a hole that is not covered properly yet.
That becomes an issue if you destroy your front suspension, as I did with my previous Alfa 156.
