My 993 came with these wheels. I left them on long enough to get me from Seattle to Baltimore. Sold them a few weeks later and picked up new 18" twists from WE.
Well, for one thing they would look like Boxster wheels on your 993.
Assuming he is talking about THESE WHEELS, or some just like them, do you really think most people would notice?

Not True. The 17" cup II's that come standard on many 993's have an offset of ET55, IIRC. I had 17" boxster wheels w/255 rears and an offset of ET48 mounted with No rolled fenders, No rubbing, No other issues! The wheels he is considering will work, but he probably won't be able to go wider than 265 on the rears.

The offset does not have to be 65. It has to do with the width of the wheel, in this case (as with the CupII's they are 9" wide) requiring only an ET of ~55 whereas the twist are 10" wide and more ET to fit the same way.

I would agree that it isn't the ideal solution, but he was talking about 18" x 9" wide boxster twists that look almost identical to 993 twists, so ET52 would have worked just fine, although they would really limit tire choices. In my case, when I found these, my original plan was to replace the rear tires on my ugly chrome cup-II's, but then I found these 1200 mile takeoff's that I picked up for $400 from a guy who was upgrading the wheels on his boxster. It was cheaper than buying new rear tires and I figure that I can sell them for that pretty easily when I am ready. I have some Champions that are ready to be mounted, but I think I may wait until spring now.
