Default Fabspeed sport cats... Anyone have them?

I know the Dach-x set up is widely popular but I need to rule these in or out before I join the DC group buy. My car already has Fabspeed supercup mufflers.

Thanks Rich

I also have supercups with stock cats. Thinking about whether I have better things to spend my money on right now, or if it's worth doing with the group buy. Would be nice to explore all options and then make a decision. I also happen to live 5 minutes from Ambler (home of Fabspeed), so I'd save on shipping and likely can work a deal on install with them.

I have the dansk 100-cell cats, which are like the Fabspeed cats. I'm happy with the weight savings. I doubt it adds much/any power but who knows.

Fabspeed claims 8 bhp for their set up?

I also have supercups and will be buying a 100 cell cat with a crossover pipe (like the x-cat) as I believe this will give a better sound.

Have you heard the two back to back? I don't know anyone who has, so I'm just curious.

Perhaps, but they also claim big power gains from their supercup mufflers, which is clearly wrong, so their claims are questionable. That said, 8hp doesn't sound too unreasonable, but I wouldn't count on 8hp.

Not to defend anyone else's products, but Boris dyno'd mine out and got 8hp 4ftlbs torque so gain is reasonable with sport cats.....certainly frees up the flow

Not heard them back to back, but have heard from someone who tells me that non x-over tends to sound much more 'pop pop pop'. Look at any good systme for Lambo's or Ferrari's and the best ones have a cross over for imroved sound dynamics.

Maybe someone with the fabspeed seperates can deny this? I stand to be corrected.

I was in a similar boat...I've got Fab's Supercup exhaust on my car. Not much of an exhaust since it removes the muffler. Was considering going the GB route but after discussing it with the paddock-fraternity it was decided no cats are better than some....for a racecar that is.

For me the decision is whether to keep it street legal or not. Currently, I'm leaning on NOT. Car is no fun on the street anyway. ;-)

OK so are there any issues once I decide to put any after market cats on with the CEL? I want to upgrade but don't want any issues with the car. I have a 95 993. Thanks for any reply.

NO ....no issues with 200 cell cats, bypass pipes.....maybe, sport cats pipes.....no.

95's don't read for cats anyway, so you really have nothing to worry about!

I need the exact diameter of the original catalytic converter, could anyone help me on this please?
The diameter of the catalyst not the tubes, should be between 3.5 - 4.5 inches, but I need the exact figure. Thanks
