(ps. Howdy, I would plan to go Fri night)

mmmm.... Coopers in Llano... do you still pick your meat off the pit directly outside? IMO the 2nd best BBQ place in TX (second only to Louie Muellers in Taylor)
Well, of course you can!! I know at least one other non-Porsche on the drive, so you won't be the only odd ball if you drive the Audi. As they say, run what ya brung!! And yes, at Cooper's they still have you pick your meat from the pit. Nothing ever changes there.

Ed, I hope you can make it!! If you can swing the 1000+ to get here, it would be great to have you!

Apparently you've never eaten at Black's BBQ. Having gone to High School in Lockhart, I'm an expert of course.

agree.... salt lick, blacks, rudys, etc. are all ok, but the holy trinity of bbq in TX is Kreutz, Louie Muellers, Coopers... in my not so humble opinion

Adrienne, as to whether or not I bring the 912 or RS4, it all depends on how "spirited" we will be driving... in the the 912 i will be long left in the dust, in the RS4, not so....

Doesn't matter which one you bring... I'll wait for ya You know I luv ya!! Seriously, it would be cool to have the 912 but you might be more comfortable in the RS4.

JT, I think Tony is talking about the RS4...

And I am only offering a loaner so I can get my hands on the 912 for the weekend!

Okay, I need a little feedback from y'all. I have developed 2 routes. Both start at 9a, ending at 4p, including all stops and lunch, and mileage is 210-215. The main difference between routes is when and where we stop for lunch. Route 1 we'll be getting to Cooper's in Llano at 1:05. Route 2 we stop in Fredericksburg at noon.

Sooo....
1. Is lunch at 1:00p okay, or should we plan an earlier lunch?
2. Is the overall amount of time and mileage okay, or should I make the route shorter?

Both routes cross major highways, so there will be plenty of opportunities for folks to leave the tour early if necessary.

my vote is for coopers at 1pm... for those of us from dallas/tyler, its a pretty logical break point to start the drive home after lunch... at least for me

i think that i am going to drag my dad along, and in that case we will drive both the 912 (him) and the RS4 (me)... we are coming in Friday night and staying out at a motel that we like at the intersection of 620 and 71.... we have stayed there many times before and it is very close to the Starbucks... i am hoping that much of the dallas crowd will also decide to come Friday... a day trip is doable, but pretty tough from dallas
