I use Meranza IP, then Klasse AIO covered with Klasse sealant ...add a coat of S100 carnuba wax and you have a red mirror.
Thanks for the reply, I thought the paint was single stage, but wasn't sure. If the car checks out and I FINALLY become an owner, I'll probably break down and get a good orbital buffer from Griots or the like.

Nice! She already knows I want a Jessica Simpson look-a-like for the front seat, no need to fan those flames

have a 97 C2 bought used with 22kmiles now 105k miles in 4 yrs, daily driver, lovit it camel interior.
used finisett[3m] then paste wax, use home despot 19$ orbital buffer. when not waxing i use jet dry, in water sprayer[plant food /liquid fert. sprayer attached to the garden hose]. no water spots but i wipe witha towel and she still gleams from the jet dry.
midlife is what you make of it, im 65.
all the best to you.

I find that the supposedly "difficult" colors like red clean up very well, and look stunning. +1 the car cover for the daytime parking.

Jet Dry, the stuff for the dishwasher right? Cool, I've never heard of this for the car. Just use it at final rinse when doing a typical wash?

my first porsche was a GR 993- loved every second of owning it! never had a problem keeping it clean- drove it cross country a few times even. people always used to ask if it was a 2005 or a 2006 and when I said 97 they flipped out-

the single stage paint is really the key I think- you can wax the hell out of it, and just keep putting on new coats...eventually I only had to rinse it and wipe it to get that showroom look!

I hope the ppi checks out and post pics when you bring it home!

+1
My first 993 was a 1995 GR/Cashmere C2. Beautiful car. However, in the 18 months I owned it I got many speeding tickets. More than I've earned in 11 years with my present car. I'm not one to blame the police when they catch me speeding, which they have on occasion, but it's the only car I got a speeding ticket in when I wasn't speeding. When driving that car cops would shoot me with radar when I was under the speed limit.

for RED

Extra points from my 5 yr old son in that its color matches Lightning McQueen from "Cars".

I own two '95 red 993s and I can tell you that the paint polishes out and shines up better than any car i've ever owned.
+1 Wasn't my first choice but I wouldn't trade with any other color now.

yea the jet dry works well on anything. We were living on our 47ft ketch in sausalito and moored behind us was a british superyacht[to us anyway] the crew saw us one day and one of them [they all wore stunning pressed uniforms] gave us the tip on the jet dry. Youve got to experiment with the concentration, too much= smears, to little no effect but i use it on anything i wash and on the boat the stainless [winches, dorades, etc] dry mirror with no water spots. i usually use too much in the sprayer and then use a towel to wipe the car or suburban or what ever and it really shines. if you get the conc. correct, its a no touch dry.
all the best
