Default Maxima Chain Wax---What retail stores carry it?

After about 3 months after my windshield replacement, I have the annoying sqeak.

Does Walmart, Home Depot, ect carry Maxima Chain Wax?

Thanks,

Yep- for bike chains and squeeky 993 windshields. Pedro's and White Lighting are other options.

Some of the larger Autozone stores carry it, especially where there are a lot of motorcycles.

BTW, it's also used by some people on go kart chains as well.

Motorcycle shops will have it. Any chain wax will work. You want the stuff that goes on wet and dries to a wax. Normally used on dirt bikes and available wherever motocross bikes are sold.

Umm, NO! The squeak is caused by friction between the seal and the glass. The chain wax lubes it so that when it moves (and it does) it doesn't make noise. Worked fine on my 993. Needs to be applied about every 3-4 months.

Best,

The noise is starting to drive me a little batty. The spray seems to be the easiest and tried my White Lightening but it was pretty cold.

I'll make a few calls tomorrow and hunt it down.

This recent thread dealt with the windshield gasket squeek: an alternative to silicon based products was suggested ... lanolin. I will give that a try.

It can be found quite easily online, if you prefer internet shopping.

Im an online shopper big time but also trying to tackle it this weekend.

Today I have purchased 32 DVDs (for my rental property) , an Ernest Hemmingway book, and a stainless steel sink protector. Damn, its only 630am !! You wont find me standing in a retail line at 3am anytime or any holiday. Purchased my C4 and Bronco online as well (Ebay). Bought 2 homes after finding them on line.

Like mentioned any motorcycle shop - street, dirt, Japanese, European, Harley or otherwise should carry it. It's the stuff that I use on my Ducati chain and I never have a problem finding it at most bike shops.

Best,
The foam solution is a very good one as well. It reduces the amount of vibration/rub in the seal and also does not tend to need reapplication every 6 months. I found that solution here on Rennlist as well.

Maxima works pretty good. Instant results. Put on an application a few hours ago. There is still an occasional creak but not the constant, annoying, sound at lower speeds.

I used my finger to open the seal and held the straw in and went all the way around. It took about 5 minutes.

Im happy now. But the brake squeal is back, damnit!!
