Default Rs Motor Mounts

Well I have jsut installed RS motor mounts , RS Trans Mount, and a B&M short shifter..

1) The short shifter is great about 50% less throw as stk

2) While the motor mounts and trans mount create additional vibration ( not bad and acceptable)

3) The Cabin noise increase is about twice to 3 times the noise from stock is this what other people are finding?

4) My RS clutch is much louder now than is was before I believe due to the more positive engine/trans mount.

5) seems to be much better offline exceleration than with stk mounts..

Mainly I am looking for feed back on item number 3 above to see if that is most other people find when changing to RS mounts..

Based on your flaming avatar u should be able to deal with the changes to the mechanics. What’s the problem?

From what I understand, it's primarily the tranny mount that increases noise levels. I noticed minimal difference when I installed just the RS motor mounts.

I was just discussing the RS trans mount with another RL'er on a drive today. What differences can be felt with the it??? I have the motor mounts and the RS shift kit, but the trans mount is the one that I DON'T have.

The increase is normal and will be the worst in a chassis that has had the interior stripped out. What the RS mounts really do is solidify the engine and gearbox to the chassis making the cabin/chassis kind of a speaker/amplifier for the normal vibrations the the stock mounts isolate.

Agreed that you get better performance through less play in the drivetrain but I personally find it to be unacceptable for street driving.

Now if you really want loud, go solid mounts and straight cut gears...................ZP44

IMO the RS tranny mount is not suitable for street use (chatter). I have a relatively aggressive street setup including RS engine mounts and at one time RS tranny mount but took the latter off as it was driving me bananas. Several of our 933 customers who initially inquired about this mod for exclusive street use were ultimately glad they didn't pull the trigger after a ride in one with this setup. The RS clutch/LWF with the motor mounts, drilled airbox and loud sport mufflers is no problem by comparison.

Thanks for the suggestion looks like I made a bonehead decision but now I know will have to live with it for a little while . but the tranny mount is comming out , I should have checked before pulling the trigger. lesson learned

My yellow car has it all and (thankfully) it never gets driven on the street. The C4S seems like it's from a different galaxy when I take them out back to back at the track. (Then again, going from the Radical to the yellow car makes it seem like a Maybach/equivalent.)

If I'm reading between the lines correctly, did someone say they have an RS tranny mount for sale????

If so, I may be interested.

MaxRPM did the sourcing and installation.

and I do not think the trans mount will be of any use after it is taken back out..
