I am looking for some product that will allow me to custom program my engine management system. Something better than a chip, which is not available for a '97 993. Can someone recommend a product?

Tear it out and put in Motec. Bet it would cost you about 10K for the computer plus 5K for the tuning...

Seriously - isn't your only option an aftermarket engine management system?

Might want to do a web search on engine management systems and also look at what Porsche shops are putting in. Be warned, will cost you a lot to do correctly and you're not going to get a lot of extra power, if that's what you're after.

1. Chips are available for a '97 993.
2. Nothing is available in the U.S. to custom program. (U.K. tuners must have something but it's a mystery). Something may soon be in the works, which you can learn more about here.
