Hi guys,

Just got a call from the body shop that's painting a split-grill spoiler for me... They say they are not able to order the arctic silver paint using the code I gave them ( L92U - which is what is on the sticker under my hood ). He says he checked his books and called his supplier and the code is not right.

It was my understanding that the codes for colors like arctic were changed from year to year, and that the one he has is correct for my car ('97 c4s)?

Any ideas on how to get this paint? Is there another code?

ARKTISSILBER MET original pant code for your car is L92U, Glasurit the original paint manuf. has them in two tones, 92T or 92U.
The 92T shade was used between 1995-2004 and 92U shade is 1995-2008 (today)

Sikkens has ARKTISSILBER MET in 5 different shades:

POR92T
POR92T(L)
POR92U
POR92U(B)
POR92U(L)


PAINT SHOP IS WRONG.

Daniel, I would strongly suggest you show them a part of your already painted area in direct sunlight for them to match exact SHADE of ARKTISSILBER MET.

My 97C4S's Artic Silver paint code is also "L92U" under the hood, but I understand there is also a Artic Silver paint code "L92T".
BumperPlugs used this code for a little accessory painting for me.
No questions from him concerning the L92U paint code.

Thanks for the help guys.... Looks like he has figured it out now (just wanted to make sure I wasn't giving him the wrong info). He has my original grille to match the color from , so hopefully it should work out ok...
